HIHA's 2010 Main Project

"As the old blinds in the clubhouse ballroom deteriorated, broke, and fell down, it became obvious that they needed to be replaced. The Homeowners Association took on this project, with excellent results. The blinds, installed by Acord's, are not only safer and more attractive than the old ones, but will add additional room-darkening capabilities for events such as movies, dances, and theater productions." Shown with the window treatments is HIHA Vice President Deb Hartsell, who chaired the project."

HIHA's 2009 Main Project

"The front entrance underwent a major landscaping project, managed by the newly formed HIHA Beautification Committee and funded by the Homeowners Association. The committee was led by member Judy Rauber. This group will continue to be funded by HIHA as it works toward making Holiday Island a pleasant place to live and visit."

A project supported by HIHA in 2009 was the Holiday Island Farmers' Market, which moved from the Rec Center to the parking lot of Vacation Rentals.  Funds provided by HIHA contributed to promotion, advertising, and a "Business After Hours" event to promote the market for the benefit of Holiday Island residents and visitors.

2007 Homeowners Kitchen Project

Each year, homeowners association takes on a project that will benefit the community as a whole.

In 2007, President Paul Merolla, with the support of the board of trustees,  selected the clubhouse ballroom kitchen as its project.  Because this was such a large and costly project, additional funds were solicited from many clubs and organizations in Holiday Island that utilize the kitchen.  The following groups contributed to this project:

Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District (HISID) supplied the funding for installation by Scandia Homes (Fred Nelson) of the new countertops.

As a result of the funds from all groups and many volunteer hours from homeowners, we now have:

We also made the following purchases:

Shoppers included Paul Merolla, which meant traveling to Nebraska to obtain two commercial refrigerators at the cost of one, knowing where a used,  three section stainless sink, in excellent condition, was available and negotiating a fair price. In addition to that, Paul and his wife June made multiple trips to Branson restaurant suppliers.  Donna and Pete Putnam, Linda and Ron Griswold each made trips to Branson or surrounding areas to obtain the needed items.
